Carnival 2016

Once again we enjoyed  endured another carnival year. When we started this tradition oh 7 years ago I don't think we realized the cost when we got to 5 kids or just everything it entails. We continue it though because MEMORIES. Our kids look forward to this for months so there is no getting around it especially when you live on main street and they see the carnival come in days before it begins. I love watching their expressions and eyes light up, but the hurdle of getting there is always tough. Usually it comes at a crazy busy time of year. For some reason we are always really busy with some sort of house project or just babies. This year we are painting the dining room/living room and laying new floor. Second it is always COLD or rains. I think this year tops it for cold since we had snow that weekend. I remember one year it was actually really hot when Lilliana was a baby and I was pregnant with Ari. 3rd if it isn't the other 2 then the mosquitoes come out in full force and it can be miserable. Thankfully this year it was just cold and busy.

For days before they wanted to go out front and look. I think they may have even tried to talk their Aunt and Uncle into taking them one night. I am not positive on that, but I am sure the conversation came up. We decided to do something different this year. It tore at my heart, but honestly I can't afford $20 bracelets for everybody at this point. One here or there is fine, but when we get to 5, not going to work.  This year we let them each ride 3 rides. I really thought they would be disappointed, but as with everything I learned a lesson, less is more. They were so happy with their three rides and content to head home with cotton candy and an elephant ear to share. We didn't spend a lot of money and everybody left happy so it was a win!

All in all we really had a wonderful time. Next year the babies will be toddlers. That is hard to believe.
