After 3 years we finally made Lilliana's dreams come true. She has been asking to play soccer since she was 2. Eli wanted nothing to do with it, but she asked. Last year we were going to, but with me being pregnant and a new baby arriving in the spring we decided it wasn't the time. I have to be honest I REALLY didn't want to do it this year. I am selfish when I say this, but Saturdays are my one days to relax and just enjoy the things I like to do. Every other day I take care of everybody else and do the homeschooling. Sundays are my prep days for the week. Saturdays are my days to do what I want. Committing to 16 Saturdays of not being able to do that took a lot. We also have been crazy busy so this just seemed very overwhelming. Ari also wanted to join, so I knew at that point I was going to be giving up my entire Saturday not just a couple hours.
Lilliana has had 3 games and she loves it! Her coach wants her to continue. Honestly in so many ways she is a natural. She has always been athletic more so than the boys. I have no idea where she gets it from because let's be honest Anthony and I are not athletic people. I thought just maybe we would do one year and she would not want to continue, but I don't see that happening. I think we are in it for the long haul unless she chooses a different activity in the future. Listening to little girls play is hilarious too. The team names are a riot. They get so distracted at times and come up with off the wall thoughts it is just too funny. If nothing else I enjoy the comedy of it.
Then there is Ari. There is nothing cuter than a tiny boy in tiny cleats. He unfortunately has only had one game because of rain. I foresee his tomorrow game being canceled too. Either way he loves it just as much as Lilliana and it is good for him. He is very focused and likes to tell the kids exactly what they are supposed to do which is typical Ari.
Overall I am glad we decided to sign them up. It has been fun to see them enjoy an activity.
