Summer Dress Pattern Wardrobe Staples For Women and Girls

The title may be deceiving as these dresses would definitely carry you through fall or winter as they include sleeves.

I have slowly been working on this and sewing many things. I was anxiously awaiting for a certain pattern to release. All fabric in these photos is from http://sosewenglishfabrics.com/

I had the privilege of testing a dress. I knew it was coming and could not wait. A pinterest version has been floating around for months and finally there is a pattern for it. This dress makes the perfect summer wedding dress. There are so many options. You can add a lace or stretch mesh over it to make it more dressy, or you can just enjoy it as a maxi. It also makes the perfect dress for fall or spring. This dress is the Bliss Dress From Hallå. I had the privilege to test it. I made two versions. One for summer and one for fall. This dress comes with a beautiful circle yoke neckline. You can have gathers, sleeves, different waistbands. It also comes with a halter version. Samantha adds so many options to her patterns you definitely get a good bang for you buck. I really love this dress and the empire waist.

There is a coupon code right now. Use ITSHOT for 20% off in your cart through 7 / 12 at 11:59 p.m. PST. There also is a coupon in the instructions for this pattern to use at So Sew English for fabrics.

The second dress that is an absolute wardrobe staple in my opinion is the Hallå Agnes Dress. Here is the best part if you join the Hallå Facebook page you can get the code to get the dress for FREE! It seriously is the most flattering dress on any body type. It is a swing style and soooo easy to make. I made all this in 1.5 hours. That includes cutting out the pattern and material. If you just want to start sewing your clothes this is the best pattern to start with. It also comes in a top length. If you join the So Sew English SEW-A-LONG Group there will be a sew a long beginning soon just for this pattern. Sew a longs are great ways to learn tips and tricks and break a pattern down into a manageable time. Sleeves will be available for this at the Sew a long if not a bit earlier.

This dress is so fun. I did a Sew A long for it and deviated a little from the pattern. That being said it has a lot of options also. I did add a modesty panel to it as it was way to low for my comfort. There are directions on the Patterns for Pirates blog to do this. This dress is the Sunshine Dress from Patterns for Pirates. The original dress has a gathered skirt. I added a circle skirt for something different. It just makes you want to twirl. You can do this in a maxi and today I even saw a hack for a rayon challis woven skirt. There are so many options. I really love this dress. It could be date night, church, wedding, or just grocery shopping with the right options. It is another great bang for your buck option.

I have already blogged about this dress, but it may be my second favorite dress compared to the Agnes. It really is such a favorite of mine. This is the Mama Isabel from Maid for Mermaids. Wrap dresses are so flattering and just perfect.

Which leads me to little girl's dresses. Before I could even suggest this pattern to Lilliana she had her eyes on the Isabel. It hands down is her favorite dress. She picked out the fabric for these dresses. I also may have matching things in them because I had picked fabric for myself first. This dress has the same options as the adult dress. This is the child Isabel Dress by Made for Mermaids

Every little girl needs a twirly skirt or dress. Lilliana also requested many of these. She wanted bright pink unicorn fabric from Sew So English. Unfortunately they were out so she picked this pink floral. It is stunning and one of my favorites. I bought enough to make us all something. She got her twirly girl skirt from Hallå patterns. You can get this and an adult version for FREE if you join the Hallå facebook group and look in the pinned post. It is a quick and easy sew. I can whip these up in about 15 minutes. The longest part is the hemming!

Last but not least the little girls are wearing  Peek-A-Boo Pattern Shop Little Miss Sunshine Tees. I paired it with the Gloria Circle Skirt Add On. This is an easy sew too. The Tees are perfect for every day. For winter I would definitely just make the Gloria pattern too. They love them and twirl.

I hope that helped you narrow down a couple dress patterns.
