Friday night was another late night with kids. I didn't end up moving Larry which was fine. I figured I would wait until nap time on Saturday so we could tie in decorating the Christmas tree and Larry. Larry came and brought the kids their ornaments. I get them an ornament every year so when they move out they have a collection already started. I try to tailor it to their interests for the year. I also am picky. It has to be silver or red to match our tree. I am very weird and like everything to match. I will warn you there will be lots of videos this post. Feel free to skip over the ones of them finding Larry. I add them for my own personal record keeping. I also am going to throw out this disclaimer............I HAD NO IDEA what I was talking about regarding Eli's ornament. Part is true but I had a complete air head moment and was very wrong about his train. SOOOOO yes I look like a fool on the video:) It is true the train is very close to where we live though.
Decorating the tree is always so interesting at this age. The kids helped Anthony put it together.
Also excuse all the "ghosting" from the lights on all the pictures. It is my filter I have over my lens to protect it. It is cheap so causes these when in low light.
Now when it comes to decorating Eli knows the drill and can not contain himself. He just gets so excited. All Lilliana saw was sparkles and pretty as she kept saying so. It was fun to watch them decorate.
We even let Ari add his decoration. He was beyond fascniated. He was kicking his legs and laughing and loved it. He kept grabbing the tree and trying to get as close as he could. It really is magical to watch your children light up with excitement over the many things that make Christmas Christmas.
At 5 o' clock. And don't forget that as Eli kept telling us, the parade was going to start. My kids share my excitement in silly little things like parades and holidays. Eli was counting on that parade all day. He knew at 5 o'clock it would be starting. So after the tree was "kid" decorated we went out to watch the light parade.
My camera does not perform the best for night time photos which is such a shame. Santa and Mrs. Claus are some of the sweetest people we know. We look forward to seeing them every year. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Vitu for bringing us lots of smiles during the parade.
After the parade it was back inside for dinner and me making the tree a little more presentable, more decorating, and letting the kids enjoy the magic of the night.
We also enjoyed The Polar Express.
Ari is so close to full on crawling. He just needs to put it all together. He goes backwards. I don't know where the time has gone but he moves so quickly. Here are a few photos of his new tricks.
After bath time the kids begged me to wind up the music decorations. This decoration has a lot of sentimental meaning. It was given to me by my Grandma Gloria. Eli remembered it from last year and of course was so excited for it.
They could not resist one last look and touch before bed of the tree. It really is magical and of course I let it slide because well it is so normal. I want them to find it special too.
Sunday the kids were still sick. If they have yucky noses the can't be in nursery so we once again had to miss Church due to illness. We ended up doing a lot of playing. The tent and tunnel were brought out.
It took them a bit to find Larry but they found him along with a new book.
We also put up the remaining decorations. This is probably the favorite decorations of the kids. They are the jingle bell lights. They were given to Eli his second Christmas by his Great Aunt Di. I was pregnant with Lilliana. They really are neat and Eli and now Lilliana loves them.
We finished the evening by reading the Christmas Story and a favorite past time around Christmas......staring at the tree.
Monday was a bit rough for me as all the kids still did not feel well and Anthony had a long day. Larry did toilet paper the tree.
I also walked into the kids room to find Eli doing this....................
This is the tunnel to his tent. He proceeded to tell me it was his washing machine. He had stripped the beds and washed the blankets and then he was washing all of his toys. I wished it was that easy. Tuesday I worked, but Anthony said he turned it into a gold washing machine. He has seen Gold Rush on tv and he knows how those machines work and now he mines gold. My brilliant boy! I did not move Larry for Tuesday. I was tired and had a lot going on because in all of this I was working on a craft project that I will blog about tomorrow. He did move for this morning. He decided to shave.
Needless to say our house is ready for Christmas. We are excited and have many more things planned. I do love this time of year. Stay tuned for tomorrow for a Christmas Craft entry. I have been busy and am loving what I accomplished this weekend.
