Fourth of July Weekend Part 2

Surprise I didn't get a blog post written yesterday. I really shouldn't be surprised. It seems to be the way things go these days. I probably have said this a million times but 3 kids is no joke. I read somewhere that mom's of 3 kids feel the most overwhelmed. I have no idea if it is true, but many days I FEEL this.

Back to our holiday weekend...........

Saturday night we went swimming at Aunt Toni's house again.

I love Lilliana's swimsuit. The funny thing is I bought them all two swimsuits back in May at Meijer on sale. She got a 3t suit. The first time we put them on it was almost too small. It was riding up her bottom and just looked uncomfortable. So move ahead a couple weeks I was at target and they had suits on sale. I picked up 2 4t ones. I get this on her and it is droopy in the bottom. She looks cute but the girl can't win in the swimsuit department. She has a very long torso I think is the problem.

I should add that Ari's name is bruise to all the accidents he has while hitting his head. He fell out of the motor home the day before when we were up north and banged up the side of his head.

Eli has not really wanted to jump in at the pool. He half does it by sitting on the side and scoots into the water. That night he finally jumped in on his own.

We came home and I had the kids get ready for bed. We still had not done fireworks sparklers so we did them before bed. I also braided Lilliana's hair in an inside out braid. Her hair is finally getting long enough to braid again.

They both loved doing them. Having an older sibling for Lilliana is good and bad. The good thing is she really loves to do what he does but sometimes I worry she is too young. She insisted on having her own like Eli.

Sunday was relaxing. We caught up on things and Eli finished "digging for his T-Rex." Before Eli was even born and we knew what he was Anthony picked up a book about Dinosaurs. It has some plaster with plastic bones in it that had to be dug up and put together. He bought it hoping to do it with Eli when he was older. Well Eli is older and 4 years later he did it. Eli LOVED it.

All in all it was a wonderful weekend. It was nice to spend time with Anthony and enjoy summer. We are off for a bike ride and day outside. Have a wonderful Thursday.

Fourth of July Weekend Part 1

July has been a busy but enjoyable month for me. I decided to not take as many sessions and enjoy summer with the kids. It has been nice and enjoyable. Next month I begin to get busy and have to start getting Eli's school books together for school. It is hard to believe I am am talking about school again.

I also enjoyed my nice week of reflecting and digging into some Bible verses. I needed it for my kids, husband, and family. Sometimes in the hustle and bustle of being mom I forget the important things and it is all I can do but make sure I have taken a shower. I think we have all been there at one point or another. I keep waiting for that magical moment where it gets easier. While it has in many ways, many ways it has not. Ari is still pretty needy. I hope soon we are past the deer in the headlight phase.

The couple weeks leading up to the Fourth of July, Anthony was working a lot. Thankfully he was able to have a 4 day weekend. It was much needed and appreciated. The house was a wreck and so I spent that Wednesday getting it clean and us ready to head up north for a couple days.

Ari helped or didn't help..........

Onions and Alcohol (used to make cheesecakes as we don't drink) such a combination

Finally we were off that Thursday after changing a car seat, breaking another one etc. Leaving town with 3 littles is NEVER easy.

Every year Anthony's family goes up to his Aunt's house for the fourth. This was the second time we were able to go. They are always so gracious and let us use their motor home so we have a place to sleep. It is always a fun time. Eli loves playing with the cousins and Lilliana is getting big enough she loved it too.

We also celebrated Ari's birthday as we had not done an actual party for him.

Then it was time for Fireworks!! The 4th of July is probably one of my favorite holidays. I do love all the others but I love summer and everything about this day.

Before we left the kids played the Kinect with their cousins. Eli loved it.

Friday we headed back home. As Anthony had been gone much of June we had some projects to complete at home. It is a good 3 hour ride home for us. Thankfully the kids were exhausted.

Yes, He is forward facing in a big seat now. I don't care what is safer at this point him not throwing up every car ride is more important!
