Lensbaby Love May 2015

The signs of spring are finally beginning to make their appearance here in Michigan. The magnolia will pop this weekend I am sure. We have been out cleaning up the yard. I also have been planting things for the cool weather. I took my macro converters out the other day and took a few flower shots. I plan to canvas a couple of these for the house. I am so thankful for spring this year.

These are the days we live for all winter. Long warm days in the sun for the kids. They love to help me water the garden and plant all the seeds. Today we found our radishes are coming up.  They were recently gifted a trampoline from their Great Aunts. I have more on this later, but tonight grabbed a couple shots.

Spring Adventures and What We Are Enjoying

Talking on the phone.....

Our new windows. I think I cried when I saw this little boy sitting here just watching the cars go by. Since this entire process began they have not been allowed to touch the windows or really go near them. I felt bad about it, but it was what was best. Ari loves to just sit and stare at the cars. He could have been out playing, but I walked into the living room to see him enjoying the breeze and cars.

April Fool's Jokes-Anthony convinced the kids April Fool's Day meant everything was backwards. The only way you could avoid it was wearing your underwear on your head all day. They believed it and got prepared the night before. They wore underwear to bed on their head and all through the night. We woke up and told them. It was hilarious.

Spring has been good to us. We did get a bit of snow today, but I won't complain too much. The warm days and birds singing make up for it.

10 on 10 April 2015

April Showers Bring May Flowers has been the theme of the past couple days. I thought we would be in for some severe weather, but we just had a mild early morning thunderstorm. I had a little boy sneak up to my bed scared. I get it. The thunderstorms here are way more scary than in Idaho. Thankfully he fell back asleep.

It was so dreary, but they played while I made breakfast.

Then we did our morning chores with much reluctance today.

For some reason after school the youngest two decided it was time to beat up their brother.

Dad came home and took him to the eye Dr. for a quick trip and that made things better.

Easter 2015

Our church had 3 services planned for Sunday. We decided to go to the earliest service. It would mean an early morning, but I wanted plenty of time to make what I needed to for Sunday dinner. All week everybody had been sick at one point or another except for me. Saturday night I laid everybody's clothes out and had eveything planned for a quick trip out the door come Sunday morning.

Sunday morning arrives and I get up very early to make the early service including a nice breakfast.  Lilliana told us her stomach hurt a couple times, but we insisted everybody keep going because sometimes she just gets nervous. We make it out the door right on time. We are about two minutes into our trip and Lilliana is crying in the car saying her stomach hurts. Anthony felt a little off so we turn around and head back home. She laid down on the couch and ten minutes later felt better. I was very annoyed, but it is very possible she still did not feel great.

We did make it over to family's for dinner which was wonderful with lots of great food. The kids had a quick egg hunt.

I took them out yesterday on a nature walk and to take some photos of them in their Easter clothes that they didn't get to wear for Easter. They can wear them next Sunday so that is fine. I will probably kick myself for not getting a family picture, but we just didn't this year with everything that happened. It seemed easier to not get one so that is the route we went.

Poor Eli can barely smile with his eyes open. He has a huge shiner from wrestling with Ari. This was day 5. I cringe every time I look at it.

This is as much as we got with the boys. I promised them if they took a couple quick pictures they could go play. They were content to play with sticks, dig for gold, and pretend the entire area was a volcano, and we NEEDED to evacuate NOW!

L was a lot more willing to allow for pictures. She always is. Since everybody was sick and sleeping all week, I sewed her Easter dress and her doll one too. She picked out this reproduction 30s fabric several months ago, so it was time we made her a dress.

It may not have been the Easter we planned, but that is ok. It was still a great one. I hope your day was as BLESSED as ours was.
