Annalise and Daphne's Newborn Photos

I am so lucky to have this wonderful photographer close to us. I spent hours looking for a newborn photographer for Ari. I was so thrilled when I found her. She was amazing then, and in the past 3 years has grown to be even better. Needless to say we love Meg at Shöne Foto. This is just a sample of their gallery. I actually had to narrow down the photos so the post was not filled! Enjoy! They are probably my most favorite photos to date.

It is so hard to have favorites, but I have to say Eli may have stole the show.

As you can tell this is one proud big brother!!!

I had two requests for Meg. I didn't care how it happened, but I wanted a photo of me in my nightgown. It is classic painting and picture of motherhood. We joke because I always buy a new nightgown for each baby. I live in nightgowns those first couple of weeks. I wanted that memory. She went above and beyond what I could have asked for. The third photo will be canvased in our bedroom for years to come.

My second request was with their quilts. She came up with the potato sack pose for them and I couldn't be happier! They are perfect.

Easter 2016

Saturday Anthony and I went and did grocery shopping. I had stocked up before the babies were born, but we needed to get some things that had run out. I finally felt like I had the energy and didn't hurt too bad to go. It was an experience. Needless to say I don't enjoy taking them out. It is a circus and everybody wants to touch them and stop me. I thought I feel pretty good doing this we can make church for Easter the next day. Unfortunately the 3 other kids were still coughing a lot and noses were faucets. The babies also slept the worst they had the entire time. They were up every hour, so come Sunday morning I was exhausted and I think finally crawled out of bed at 9. It meant no church. I had figured that would happen when I saw when Easter fell this year.

Regardless we had an enjoyable Sunday. We read the Easter story and spent some time praying.  We did a small Easter Egg hunt for the kids. At this point I am realizing I am the mom on Cheaper by the Dozen that her kids are disorganized and wearing whatever they put on. Nothing matches and they may be combining summer and winter at this point. I kind of just laugh. We are working it, but truthfully I am in survival mode at this stage.

All that not sleeping and eating through the night must have helped the babies because they finally are able to fit into newborn clothes sort of. Instead of just wearing sleepers all the time we have graduated to socks and pants. Daphne is finally over 5 lbs. She actually gained 4 ounces in one day. Annalise is over 6 lbs. now. The other day they were exactly a pound apart, but I think Daphne has caught up some. It is crazy they are still smaller than all the other kids are birth and almost a month old.

On a side note somebody is always crying in a photo or trying to eat the other one. Examples above. It is actually really funny when they try to eat each other.

Easter was such a beautiful day the kids begged for shorts and a bike ride. We went after dinner.

This kid and his attire.....I just laughed when we left.

Rain boots, shorts, and a winter coat. Yes he is prepared for all weather.

Lilliana wanted this picture. Her exact words "Make sure you get my clothes in the picture." I fear I am in trouble for the future.

Eli found this big stick and wanted to turn it into a sling shot.

It was a wonderful relaxing day.

Enjoying The Babies

We are enjoying the girls so much. The time is flying by and I find myself so sad at how fast they are changing. It is normal I know. We said we were done after them, and I know Anthony probably is. Secretly, I hope we are not. YES! I am officially crazy. This has been the easiest recovery etc. I am realizing why big families have more kids. It is so much easier when the kids are older. The kids can be responsible for themselves with a little structure and it just doesn't take as much out of me. We always said 6 so maybe? Either way, it won't be for months down the road Lord willing for now we are soaking in the girls.

When you weigh 5 lbs or less you can share a swing.

Recovering from a C Section is always harder. I wish I would have had the energy to take more pictures of them. I just don't and I try but they scream for milk. The disadvantages of doing it yourself. I did take a few though.

Annalise's Feet and legs. The thing I love about newborns. Their legs are feet are so tiny and wrinkly but so cute.

Daphne's feet and legs. Her poor little feet are so bruised from being poked. She was still being poked this week for jaundice. I swear if it could happen to a newborn this poor girl has been through it. She is such a trooper though.

Everything still drowns them including their swaddle blankets. We could probably cut them in fourths and still have plenty to go around each one of them.

Since me doing newborn photos was going to be near impossible, we went to our favorite local photographer to do them. Lilliana wanted rollers in her hair for them. She looked like Shirley Temple.

Meg is a saint and for that I am grateful. She let the kids play with whatever at her studio and was so patient with the girls. We love her and are always so grateful for what she does. While I am capable of taking photos, Meg just has an immense amount of talent that makes for our pictures to always be special. I am so thankful for her.

We also have the traditional photo of Anthony holding the babies and playing video games. We have it with every child so the twins of course were no exception.

I have a hard time keeping the kids from constantly touching them and waking them up. They love them especially Ari. I frequently come in the living room to him talking to them and touching their hands. He loves their little fingers. He says, "They are sooo cute!"

Anthony went back to work on Thursday so I figured it was time to figure out how to tandem carry these two. For our first time ever wrapping with a woven and two. We did pretty good. They would have stayed there for hours had I let them. They needed to eat though. Needless to say we will be utilizing this a lot in the coming weeks.

We are doing well and that is the best part. I do wish time would slow down just a bit. I love the newborn stage and it is flying by.
