Almost a month later and I finally am blogging Lilliana's simple birthday celebration. We really kept the kid's birthday to a minimum this year even more than usual. By this point I was very tired pregnant wise and was conserving any energy I could. I went so far as to order birthday cakes from Meijer. We usually have a big production of baking them together. They didn't seem to mind this year the change of plans. She of course chose Hello Kitty. I was even so tired I didn't cringe at the thought of all the food dye in her or Eli's cake. We try to avoid all food dye as the kids don't react well to it and it isn't the best for anybody.
She has been eyeing this dress for some time before her birthday. It is a special brand that you have to be very fast at "carting" on the night of release or you pay resale value which is usually double sometimes triple prices. I am talking $100 plus dresses. I of course never am going to pay that. I try and sometimes we get lucky. Some weeks I don't even try. This time I got lucky and carted the dress. I knew it would be a perfect Birthday gift along with some rain boots she has been begging for. She is all girl. She can't wait for it to be warm so she can wear it.
We also took them to Kazoos for the evening. It had been a long couple of months of remodel and not a lot of family outings or fun nights together. We also were feeling the winter blues a little bit. I did take a picture of Lilliana there, unfortunately while in the hospital preparing for surgery I accidentally erased it. My camera had not been ready for the girl's arrival so I had to delete pictures and find room on the one memory card I had since I forgot to have Anthony grab more. Either way they all had fun. Eli was so kind and had a bunch of quarters he had been saving for the kid vending machines (aka tiny crap machines). He bought Lilliana several things for her birthday and even bought Ari something. It was really sweet especially since he had worked for that money doing chores around the house.
All in all she had a wonderful birthday. I still can't believe she is five!
