My Mini Photographer

Last fall Eli began showing interest in taking pictures. Most kids love cameras and since he has had one in his face the majority of his life he is no exception. He was given one by his great aunt. It was was their old digital camera. At the time he really was not ready for it. He just was too rough and not nice so we took it away until he was a little older. Well the time has come and he has proven he is old enough to use it. It is nothing fancy but for a boy his age it works. Plus he gets the instant satisfaction of going through his pictures. He must have learned that from other people's cameras because that option is turned off on my camera to save battery. I also don't show him pictures right after I take them. I like to see them on the computer so he sees them there or when printed in his books.

So, today I downloaded them to see what he had taken pictures of. I let him help me. He even wanted photoshop his pictures. So here are some pictures off his camera. I erased all the blurry ones. We will have to work on the no flash one but they were fun to look through.

The picture we photoshopped.....really I just edited in Lightroom. PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

Kids are funny! It is funny the things he finds interesting. It is funny to see him mimick me and take pictures of things he thinks are important. Really most of these are silly. One day he will look back and laugh at them. I will look back and hopefully see the beginning of a photographer. If he chooses not to go that direction that is ok.  It makes me so proud to see him take interest in pictures like I do. Such a special boy we have.
