Life is Good...................

.....in our own little world. As I sit here and listen to the news I realize others are not so fortunate. We once again are blessed. I sure glad I am not he President monday morning or Congress since nobody can seem to do their job these days. I am grateful I am not a family member of a service member who got sad news that their loved one has fallen this weekend. I am blessed. I have a wonderful husband and two amazing children.

A week ago thursday we had a good thunder storm. Our power never went out but the street lights did and the lightening was very close. Well, the next day the computer would not connect to the internet. After talking to our internet provider it was determined it was our computer. They sent somebody out a week later but still not able to be fixed. Anthony's uncle came and took a look at it. There is still something wrong with the computer but I don't think its from the storm. It was also noted to me that I take too many photos and its time to get a new computer soon because well I have the computer running under 15% capacity. Who knew that was not acceptable?!? I just laugh. It was suggested I start taking less photos............yeah they forget who they are talking to. Ok, I do need to delete a few of the 25,000. Yes that is a 25 with 3 zeros behind it. Ill get to it. Deleting pictures is so hard but I will get there.

In all that time we have been gone we have been a busy family! Last weekend we put in a new kitchen floor. It began with a trip to Lowes. Lilliana got to sit in the cart all by herself.

We finished our trip off with ice cream that night. Daddy surprised us all.

Lilliana did not get ice cream of course but she enjoyed me doing "little piggies." She loves it and giggles so much

The thing that made me so happy that night was the fact that Eli held out his ice cream and said, "mom picture of my ice cream?" Yep, I have that boy trained! He loves pictures more and more!! So here is the picture he wanted.............

Now our Kitchen floor has needed to be replaced since we moved in. We just kept putting it off because honestly we could not figure out what we really wanted to do. We had so many ideas and thoughts about the kitchen but it was time to do it!! It was past time. So here is what it looked like before....

I especially love the duct tape accessories added to it. It really adds some "class" and gives it an"industrial" feel. We all had the luxury of helping with it. It made it fun though. PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket
Eli is such a curious boy! He watches us like a hawk and as we were taking a break we caught that little boy in doing exactly what we had been doing in the order we had been doing it! He loves to help.Photobucket

Eli was very excited to have a place to run his cars and trains. I never let them play on the old kitchen floor. I was not able to mop it as much as I wanted to because of the duct tape. Eli was so excited he could finally play though and had to bring the trains out even while we were working.Photobucket
We got it all done and it looks great!!

We also have to do the rest of the kitchen and have a lot of supplies for it for this winter. Right now we are trying to still enjoy summer. Hopefully by the end of winter my kitchen will look completely new!

Unfortunately Anthony was out of town all last week for work. He made sure and got one last wrestle match in with Eli before he left. He has always wrestled with Eli since Eli was about a month old. He use to comment on the fact that he could not wait until he was old enough to wrestle for real. Now he has his chance. It usually happens every night! Eli LOVES it. That left just us three for the week! We had a blast. Unfortunately it was a week filled with grey clouds and haze and terrible for pictures. There for a while I thought it was me or my camera and then I put it all together. I still probably could have taken the time to really make it work but that is no fun and then I lose some of the at the moment stuff. I still took plenty of pictures. They just did not turn out the greatest.

Eli spent the week antagonizing his sister. I am sure it is just the beginning. Lilliana loved it most of the time. Sometimes she would have enough though and definitely yelled at him. When he is around I don't exist. She adores him and he adores her.

We did some silly things too. I taught Eli how to use salad dressing bottles and the salt shaker as microphones at the dinner table. We had such fun singing and eating. Eli decided his corn was even a good microphone at one point. Lilliana sat watching and laughing at us with an occasional squeal.

We also enjoyed our new kitchen floor!!! The kids sat and played while I cooked meals and they LOVED that.

Eli developed a weird habit of not sleeping in his bed but random places on his floor. I found him right beside his door the other day at nap time.

Those eyelashes are to die for. They are so long they look fake.

Lilliana began sitting up in the bath on her own and now she is more in love with the bath than ever before!

..................................................BUT...................................................

The highlight of the week while daddy was gone was watching these amazing mushrooms GROW!! Our lawn needed to be mowed. It did not get done in a timely manner and normally I would not like that (now that I really think about it, I still did not like it) but this time I enjoyed the fact I was able to watch mushrooms go from looking like this............

To this.................

They were huge! Here are some comparison pictures. We accidentally broke one when I put Lilliana down but thats ok. You can still see how big they were.

There ended up being a total of 7! Eli thought they were really cool. I still would have liked to know if they were poisonous or not. I would have eaten them had I known and it was safe.

The weekend came once again. Anthony and I went out on a date on Friday night. I was so nice to my husband and left the camera at home. He was actually surprised I did not bring it. We enjoyed a pizza at Old Chicago. We use to eat there a lot when dating so that was fun. We made a trip to Best Buy. We left not spending money something we never use to do in our early dating and marriage days. I make it sound like we are so old. I would like to say we are wiser with our money now. We enjoyed an ice cream together and then it was back to get the kids.

Saturday night was our fun filled night for the weekend. We went to a surprise birthday party for our cousin at the bowling alley. I made the decision we all were bowling. Anthony's family does league bowling so they are pretty good and Anthony does not like to bowl. I never do because I am not very good compared to everybody else. I decided it would be fun if we all did though. I was right we had a blast. Eli looked so cute in his little bowling shoes and long socks!

We even got to do a little Cosmic Bowling. Eli thought that was very cool.

All in all its been a GREAT couple of weeks. I was reminded of a parents love and protection for its young last week. I came home from getting Eli and saw a bird hopping in the yard. I realized it was a blue jay. I thought it was a female and hurt. I showed Eli the bird took him inside and of course grabbed my camera. I ran out to take some pictures of it. Stupid me had my short prime lens on so I had to zoom with my feet. I am starting to try and take a picture and am probably only a foot away. The bird starts freaking out. I backed away a little to give it some space and out of the corner of my eye I see another bird come flying out of now where making the worst racket and swooping at my head. I should have known better. It chased me back to the house. Where I watched and realized there had been two. I figured it actually was a baby that they were trying to get it to fly. I never did get a picture of them, but I did get this one of Anthony and Lilliana today. It melted my heart and brought back that memory. It also brought to mind the fact that our Heavenly Father is always there to protect us and will never let us fall or go as long as we lean on Him. It was such a great reminder. So I leave you with this sweet moment. It made my day.............
