"C'Mon BOOMS!"

Yesterday was fantastic! Everything went great except the fact my washing machine stopped working. Its not even six months old! Anyways, thats another story in itself and I hope and pray between yesterday and tomorrow laundry does not take over this house! We are wearing things until they are stinky, dirty, and yucky because I do not want mountains of laundry!!!

We did a lot of household things to prepare for the week. I hate being left with a messy house after the weekends of fun so everybody pitched in and did a little. It helped tremendously. Eli played outside a lot of the afternoon and of course loved that. He had little plastic squirt guns so we had a mini water fight.

We also made a food craft. I was so bummed about them because the watermelon was bad so we did not get to eat all of them. I had only boughten it the day before so it was very frustrating. Eli had fun though and so did I.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

The apples and blueberries were good so I guess it was worth it.

I edited a lot of the pictures I took on Sunday. I can't say I would ever edit them normally this much but it was a good learning time for me in photoshop so here they are..................

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket I got Eli to help me take this particular photo. He got to push the remote button when he wanted to take the pictures. He did a good job and even gave me a cute smile!

The next two pictures I have to brag about my wonderful husband who indulges all my ideas and helps me out whenever I need it!! He was such a great help when doing this and even took the camera and took the next two photos. He did A GREAT JOB!!! I love them and they turned out great.

All in all it was a good experience and I learned a lot! I know that next time I need to pay a little more attention to light but it was fun to see what I could accomplish. Probably my favorite one was of them sitting in the wagon together.

Eli was excited to see the fireworks last night. We kept talking about it all day. Dinner rolls around and after we were tired. We debated about should we really go etc. We knew we had promised Eli so we knew we had to do it. We decided to put them to bed at 7 and wake them up at 9 to go. Lilliana we would not wake really but just transfer to her car seat. This worked out well. We got everything we needed which included stroller, blanket, bug spray, diaper bag, camera bag, and a tripod. Both of us had a thought that tonight might not go as planned. I wanted to get there early to get a spot for my tripod and get some sort of composition other than the sky of the fireworks. We had agreed on a place and thought it would be perfect for where they would be going off. I had never been so I was going off of internet info and Anthony's experience which was limited.

8:45 rolls around and we got the kids all packed up and are on the road. Just as we are about to leave our town's city limits I hear Eli say, "Mom gotta pee in the potty." So we turn around and take him back. Its fine! We left early so we had time to spare.

We get to our spot decide its perfect. I ask some people if they know exactly where they will be they say so I get the camera and tripod ready. I had spent time going over settings etc. while the kids were sleeping. I had even brought black cardboard to do some bulb shooting.  We sat around a marsh and it was beautiful. We had big tall trees on the left and parking lot on the right. I figured even if they did go off  over the trees they would be high enough it would be an even better photo. My picture was framed great and I could not wait.

Eli got to do sparklers. He ran around and played with the snap fireworks. We talked about the fireworks and the "BOOMS!" We also got a great fire fly show as the marsh was filled with them. We watched the sun set. Lilliana slept in the car right next to us so it worked great.

Just about the time Eli started to get really anxious and just bored it was time for them to start. I was ready with my remote. Then they begin with a "BOOM!" BOY WERE WE ALL WRONG!!! They were behind those big trees!! UGH!! Perfect moment ruined!! So I grab tripod and camera and run to a new spot with Eli. Anthony threw all of our stuff in the car. He walked back and forth to where we were. I am desperately getting everything setting up all the while holding Eli and talking about how great and pretty they are. We talked about the colors etc. They also did not shoot them that high we found and honestly it was one of the more disappointing shows I have seen, but it was still fun. So my pictures were not what I had hoped!! But it was a great learning experience and well I did get some good ones I think. These photos are straight off my camera without editing. I am hoping to combine some pictures and make them great. The best part of the entire night was listening to Eli and seeing his cute little face so excited. He clapped and continually repeated, "C'Mon Booms! C'Mon Booms!!" He loved every minute of it and it was so much fun to watch him.PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket

All in all it was a great weekend and I am so glad we were able to do the things we did. Many thanks and appreciation go out to my wonderful husband who indulged in my many activities of photo taking and helped with the kids while I pursued something I love. I could not have done it or do it without him. He is my better half and is a wonderful and amazing husband and father. I love him and love the fact that he is always willing to help me and no matter how tired or how much he really does not want to do it. I am so blessed to have him.
